Hyperlinking Text in a Document

Instead of copying a URL, you can add a link to text so that readers can easily click on the text to get to the page where you want them to go. All you need to highlight the text, then look for the link symbol which looks like a chain link. If you are using Google Docs, this symbol is located in the toolbar. 

Step 1: Highlight the text you want to hyperlink.
Step 2: Click on the link symbol on the formatting toolbar (see figure above).
Step 3: Enter the URL by either typing it in or copying and pasting it from the webpage itself into the Link box (see figure below).
Step 4: Click Apply.
