*Open Stance
Goal:
Learn to let the bat travel away from the body at contact
Learn to hit the ‘inside’ of the ball
Setup:
Stand at a 45 degree angle to normal with the feet lined up with third base instead of with the pitcher and the rear foot inline with the rear RH side of home plate
Set the tee up on the center of the
Process:
Hit the ball straight to back to the pitcher

It will take a few/many practices to get the ball to travel in the right direction
Notes/Thoughts: Some girls have a tendency to pull the bat around their body immediately at contact or even slightly before and don’t get the full effect of their bat velocity on the ball with the bat moving sideways. Other girls are hitting the outside of the ball instead of square contact. This drill helps to evolve their swing to more square / more hit-through-the-ball-to-extension path.
