End of the Year Procedures - Overdue Books

posted May 5, 2017, 6:08 AM by Kimberly Lehn

The end of the year is quickly approaching! Here are a few things to remember:
Students must clear their library account before the end of the year.  Every two weeks, we send out overdue notices to students.  There will be additional notices as the end of the year approaches.  There are 3 ways to clear accounts:
1. Return the overdue book
2. Pay for the overdue book
3. Replace the overdue book with a book of the same title

I recently attended the POD meetings to address how students need to be more responsible with their Chromebooks. Here are a few things I mentioned:
  • Be respectful (don't slam, squish, or pull keys off)
  • Charge them nightly
  • Bring them to school EVERY day
  • Keep track of both the Chromebook and the charger, as students are responsible for both

Grade 8 students recently had a lesson on their digital footprints.  This lesson addressed our digital profiles and encouraged students to make choices that will shape their online identity in a positive way.

I wrapped up the lesson with this video.  It is a cleverly written Flocabulary video which advises students on rules to follow when posting on social media. Check it out!!
