2017 Payroll Deduction Plan

RCPS Announces 2017 Payroll Deduction Plan for Purchasing Home Technology
Partnership with DuPont Community Credit Union

Again this year RCPS employees may purchase personal laptops, iPads, desktops, printers, etc. through a payroll deduction plan developed through DuPont Community Credit Union. The window of opportunity for this program opens on Wednesday, August 2, 2017 and closes on Friday, September 1, 2017 so pay attention to the following details:
  • Items are available from Apple and Dell and are like those technologies already found in RCPS classrooms and offices.
  • The maximum amount which may be financed through this program is $2,500.
  • The program is open to all RCPS full-time employees.
  • Participants will select to have the loan payment deducted from their paychecks over a 10 month (September 2017 - June 2018) or 22 month (September 2017 - June 2019) period.
  • The interest rate is 3.99% except for those employees who open a checking account (or already have one with DCCU and have not participated in the program in the past three years based on origination date of most recent loan) and elect to have their paychecks directly deposited with DuPont Community Credit Union for which the interest rate will be 0%.
  • To participate, employees must be a member of DCCU or become a member by opening a savings account with a minimum deposit of $5 (This is your ownership share in the credit union).
  • Items in this program are offered, for the most part, at a savings over normal consumer prices.
  • All orders must be placed and paperwork must be signed by Friday, September 1.
  • Payroll deduction will begin with the September 2017 paychecks.
  • Employees who terminate service with Rockingham County Schools prior to the completion of their loan period agree to have the balance deducted from their final paycheck.
  • Equipment setup and maintenance are the responsibility of the participant, not the RCPS Technology Staff.
