My name is Lisa Snyder.
I was born in Winston-Salem, North Carolina and moved to Rockingham County when I was 13 years old. I grew up in Greensboro and loved visiting my grandparents who lived in Winston-Salem. Now, I live on a farm where we have a horse, chickens, dogs, cats and guineas. My mother and step-father lived here in Rockingham County, while my father lives in Tucson, Arizona.
I graduated from Madison-Mayodan High School which is known as Dalton McMichael High School. I began teaching at Stone-Eden Christian School in the four-year old kindergarten. I worked there for seven years teaching the various grades of preschool through fourth grade. I received my Bachelor's Degree at Western Governors University in Interdisciplinary Studies for K-8. Now, I am a fifth grade teacher at Huntsville Elementary. What a great school! It is my desire to inspire these young men and women to be leaders, to do their best and aide them in achieving their goals. I want all of my students to love school and have the desire to do their best in whatever they set out to accomplish.
I have been married for almost 18 years to my high school sweetheart, Kevin Snyder. We were married seven years later after we graduated in May, 1994. I have two wonderful children, Kasey, my daughter, who is a sophomore at McMichael and my son, Prestonwho is in the 7th grade at Western Rockingham Middle School. It is hard to believe how fast your children grow! Our house is completed with my sweet cat, Murphy, who is named after the Atlanta Braves Third Baseman, Dale Murphy. Yes, I am a Braves fan!
I love watching sports, which is good since, Preston plays on a travel team called the Carolina Jays. When we are able our family likes to watch baseball, football, or some other sport. We like the Carolina Panthers and travel to East Carolina University to watch the PIRATES!
