My name is Tina Whitten and I am the Instructional Coach at John W. Dillard Academy.  I am in my twenty-fifth year of teaching and have taught second, third, fourth grades and AIG.  I received my Bachelor's degree in Education from UNC-C as well as two Master's degrees in Education from A&T and UNC-G.  I earned a Doctorate degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Gardner-Webb University.  I am a National Board Certified Teacher as well, and have been named Teacher of the Year for both New Vision School and for Rockingham County Schools.

I live in Mayodan, NC with my husband, Eric (a Magistrate in Wentworth, NC) and our daughter, Lily Grayce (an eighth grader at Western Rockingham Middle School).  Other than working at J.W. Dillard Academy, I spend time driving Lily to drama practice, chorus practice, CrossFit, personal training, volleyball practice, volleyball games, volleyball tournaments, tennis practice, and tennis games.  My family enjoys traveling and shopping together.
