About SOAR

Vision Statement for SOAR
Success through Opportunities, Academics and Recreation

The SOAR Community Learning center seeks to provide integrated programs for expanded learning and academic enrichment opportunities, in a climate of respect and responsibility, for students and their families beyond traditional school hours.
SOAR is a summer and afterschool program for children in kindergarten through sixth grade. School year program begins at the end of the regular school day and operates until 5:15 p.m, Monday-Friday.

SOAR is committed to providing an enriching environment where children are exposed to new opportunities and experiences beyond the school day and receive homework support, guided by highly qualified teachers and support staff.

There are two types of SOAR programs during the school year: SOAR Monday - Thursday program and Rockin with Rec Friday program.

The SOAR Monday - Thursday schedule consists of 4 eight-week sessions that will run 4 days a week.  Three or four programs will run each session, one for each of the grade groups K - 1, 2 - 3, and 4/5 - 6, and serve 10-15 students per group.

Rockin with Rec Friday schedule consists of 26 days of Friday programming that will include a focus on recreation and physical activity.  The program will serve 30 students in Grades K
- 6 and be led by a program leader, Mrs. Best and program helpers, Mrs. Danforth and Ms. Lekberg.
