Recipes for Sensory Play

Here are some of the recipes that we have used in preschool!

Pumpkin Slime

1. In one bowl mix 1 cup water and 1 cup of Elmer's clear glue {really mix to combine completely}.

2. Now's the time to add color, glitter, or confetti (we used pumpkin confetti)

3. In another bowl measure out 1 cup of liquid starch.

4. Slowly mix the glue/water mixture into the starch with a spoon, make sure to get all the glue out of the bowl.

5. Switch to mixing with hands for a few minutes until you feel it come together.

6.  Store in a clean, dry container.

In a large pot mix:

2 cups of flour

1 cup salt

2 cups of water

2 Tbls. of veg. oil

1 tsp. cream of tartar

food coloring

Cook mixture over medium heat, stirring constantly. When play dough has formed a ball is no longer gooey, remove from heat and knead. Be careful as play dough will still be hot. Let cool and play!

In a large container combine:
11/2 cups warm water
2 cups white glue
food coloring

In a second smaller bowl combine:
11/3 cups warm water
3 tsp. Borax

Mix ingredients in each container thoroughly.
Pour contents of smaller container in to large container.
Lift and turn mixture - let excess water drain.
You're ready!
