Fitness Testing

At Barstow, we are currently assessing students fitness levels using the American Alliance for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance Physical Best Health Related Test.  Students in grades 3 through 8 are assessed in four components of physical fitness.  Cardio-vascular endurance is assessed with a 1 mile run.  Muscular endurance is assessed with the 1 minute abdominal curl up test.  Muscular strength is assessed with palms away long hang pull ups.  Flexibility is assessed with the sit and reach test.  I have added a push up test from the Presidents' Challenge to allow more students to achieve success
