Mosquito Safety

PLEASE CONTINUE TO TAKE PRECAUTIONS TO AVOID MOSQUITO BITES

Until prolonged cold weather, mosquitoes will still be a concern for outdoor activities, especially those in the mornings and evenings as well as during rainy damp weather.

Neshobe students have outdoor PE and recess daily, weather permitting. We recommend you prepare your child in case they are exposed to mosquitoes while at school as well as at home.

Neshobe School’s suggestions for students and parents are based on the recommendations from the Vermont Dept. of Health:

·        Have long sleeves and pants available in backpacks for recess(weather permitting),

·        Apply long acting mosquito repellent before school or provide your child

with repellent towelettes to bring with them to school to use themselves before

recess or PE.

·        Repellents with DEET often last up to 10 hours and can be applied in the

morning before school or work for protection.
