Light Painting - During an art collaboration with Mrs. LaFlam's second grade class on the theme of the solstice students created these light paintings. Artists have always been interested in light. This project was inspired by the famous light paintings made by Pablo Picasso in 1949: Picasso light paintings for LIFE magazine

A handful of students in Grades 3 and 4 used some of their free time to create artwork for the celebration of Brandon’s 250th anniversary. The students used the picture below (the former site of Brandon House of Pizza, which was washed away in the flood) and drew in their vision of what might be there in the future. They created their drawings using a digital drawing tablet, which is sort of like a digital pen with a digital piece of paper. The drawings tablets are new technology for our school and these students acted as it’s first brave pioneers. Will these new drawing tablets be the wave of the future? I guess we will have to wait and see!

During the 2012-2013 school year a group of Sixth Grade students volunteered their time after school to create a mural outside the entrance to our kindergarten and preschool classrooms. The inspiration for the mural came from the famous Abstract Artist Piet Mondrian. The new mural really brightens up the once dull grey wall.
