Kansai Gaidai University was established in 1945 as a small, private language school. A new modern campus was built in 2002. Students can select from a number of different courses including: Japanese language courses, lecture courses, and studio art courses.

Estimated Cost of the Program
  • Tuition - students pay Robert Morris tuition. All financial typically transfers except for dorm grants
  • Housing - is approx. $3,700
  • Other costs - Food, Academic Materials, Clothes/Laundry, etc., and Travel within Japan (Prices in Japan tend to be very high.)
  • Airfare and personal spending - airfare depends on the timing - the earlier purchased the better, and personal spending varies widely among students. Combined, these two can cost from $1000-$5000 or more, depending on spending habits of students
Prices were converted from Japanese Yen, and are subject to change as the exchange rate changes.

Accommodation

Students can participate in Kansai Gaidai's homestay program or in the Katahoko Student housing.

Eligibility

Students are required to have a minimum 3.0 GPA, at least 45 credits, and be in good standing at RMU (Academic Services, Financial Services, Student Affairs).
