Curbside Library Checkout
During Ridgefield Remote Learning

Step 1: Search our online catalog! Find books you want to read!

Step 3: Watch email for a notice from Mrs. Guccini that books are ready to pick up from the "Library Pickup" bin outside the SRIS/VRMS office (by the VRMS doors).

Step 4: Repeat cycle as many times as you wish!

And keep an eye on your email for my Library Newsletter, where I'll send out news about new books and materials added to our library collection each week!

Follow Mrs. Guccini:

The SRIS/VRMS Library's mission is two-fold: 1) to instill a lifelong love of reading,  and 2) to teach students how to effectively find, navigate, and evaluate information.

Find diverse books using WNDB's OurStory tool!
  • Respect the books - the technology - each other - and yourself.
  • No food, drinks, or phones allowed in the SRIS/VRMS Library
  • Hate speech will not be allowed in our library. Help make the library a safe space for all!
The technical stuff:
  • Books and other library materials (with the exception of textbooks or other special materials) are due in two weeks. The due date is stamped on the checkout slip inside the cover.
  • If books are overdue, notices are given to students via their English or homeroom teacher. There is no charge for overdue books; however, it is necessary to pay for or replace lost books.  Lost book fines may be paid in the office and the fine will be deleted from Skyward (student information system) after payment is received.
  • Students can check out library books, textbooks, magazines, and DVDs from the SRIS/VRMS Library.
    • We offer only G and PG rated DVDs, and students will need to have a parental permission slip signed to check out PG movies per district policy.
    • Certain books with more mature content will be marked "Young Adult" for View Ridge Middle School students only. Sunset Ridge Intermediate students can check out these books with a signed parental permission slip.
    • Regular due dates do not apply to textbooks--students can keep those at home for as long as they need, as long as they are returned by the end of the school year.
