Welcome to the Farmingville Elementary School Art Room website!

Mrs. Rachael Zumbo-Penney

This is my 5th year teaching Art at Farmingville and I can’t wait to see what our Farmingville artists' come up with this year! Every day that students come to art is another day to wonder, discover, think, grow, learn, explore, discuss, plan and create. It is my hope that your children have as much fun creating and then sharing their art work with you as I had making it with them!

Our art room provides an imaginative, engaging environment where students will be exposed to a variety of materials and techniques (paint, clay, ink, sculpture, printmaking, design etc).

We take our inspiration from artists of all periods and genres as well as children’s literature and create projects that integrate the elements of art and design as well and align with National Core Arts Standards. Students will begin to build a vocabulary of art concepts that they will continue to use and add to their whole life. Art will be one more tool our Farmingville artists can use to problem solve, share and express ideas.

VPA Vision Statement
The Visual and Performing Arts Departments throughout Ridgefield Public Schools aim to create inspiring experiences that are common to all the arts: exploring, creating, performing, presenting, interpreting, connecting, and reflecting. We believe the arts promote awareness of the world and an opportunity to seek meaning through a creative process.
