High School Choir is offered as a 36-week, l credit course and is a non-auditioned group open to all 9th through 12th grade students who enjoy singing.   Students will offer praise to God with their musical talents by learning a variety of 4-6 part music; music theory; developing sight-singing and ear-training skills; and singing with correct posture, breath control, resonance, registration, tone quality and diction.   Choir members are required to sing in the Pastor Appreciation Chapel, several Elementary and Middle/High School Chapels, the RCS Christmas Concert and Spring Concert, and a regional ACSI Choral Music Festival for adjudication. Members have enjoyed ministering in Christian schools, churches, nursing homes, hospitals, and children's homes during our Mission-Minded Music Tours to New York City, Atlanta, GA and other local off-campus locations.

CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR HIGH SCHOOL CHOIR FOR EARNING AN EXCELLENT RATING AT THE SOUTHEAST REGIONAL MUSIC FESTIVAL HELD AT NORTH RALEIGH CHRISTIAN SCHOOL ON FRIDAY, MARCH 9TH.
WELL DONE - WE'RE PROUD OF YOU!

We have a GREAT group of students again this year!   High School Choir meets 4th block on Gold days.   We are looking forward to the many opportunities God will give us this year to minister to others through His gift of music.

**PLEASE NOTE:  We are planning on using the Computer Lab on Fridays.  Please bring your ear buds when our class falls on a Friday, in order to earn all your points for class preparation!

Plans are being made for our Music Department to travel to Atlanta, GA for a "Mission-Minded Music Tour" on Wednesday, April 25, through Saturday, April 28, 2012.  Your child was given a detailed letter from Mrs. Keith on Oct. 24 and chaperones should express their intent to Mrs. Keith or myself by Fri., Nov. 4.  A first deposit of $75.00 is due to Mrs. Kilmer in the Front Office by Friday, Nov. 18th.   Please be in prayer for God to use us to minister to others and be an example of His love to everyone we meet!
