Application Process for School Year 2022-2023

Welcome to the Schools-Within-a-School Program at Ridge View High School! If you are zoned to attend Ridge View and are interested in applying to our track of the AVID Elective (NOT Richland Two AVID Early College), School For the Arts - SFA, Carolina Alliance for Technology - CAT, or a combination of any 2 programs, please continue reading for further instruction on application requirements for the 2022-2023 school year.

IMPORTANT DATES TO REMEMBER:

Monday, January 3, 2022 - School-within-a-school (SWS) applications open online; you are able to begin submitting an application as early as January 3rd.

Friday, March 25, 2022 - SWS applications closed online; no applications will be accepted after the March 25th deadline and the application link will be removed from this site at 12:00 am midnight (EST) on March 25th.

Monday, April 4th -Friday, April 29th, 2022 - SWS interviews/auditions will take place; once your application is received and processed, you will be notified of an interview/audition date and time. Interviews/auditions are scheduled based on the program's teachers and leaders, their flexibility, and grouping students together based on their application information. Please make every effort to adhere to interview time you are given and avoid having to reschedule unless it is a true emergency situation.

Monday, May 9th, 2022 - SWS Notifications of acceptance/non-acceptance will be posted (further instruction will be given at student interview/audition time).

Monday, May 16, 2022 - SWS Responses to acceptance due back to program directors (further instruction will be given at student interview/audition time).

Step 1: Apply - If you wish to apply to AVID, SFA, CAT, or a combination of any 2, click here for the online application.

Step 2: Look for an EMail confirmation of your application submission from one of our program directors.

Step 3: If you are applying for the AVID Elective or the CAT Program, you must also submit THREE teacher recommendations (one from the Math teacher, one from the English teacher, and one from a faculty member of your choice). You can either instruct your student's teachers to come to this website and click here to fill out their recommendation online OR you may print a copy of the recommendation form from here and have your student's teachers send it directly to Ridge View High School, ATTN: Margaret Gamble, AVID Site Coordinator.

Once your application is submitted, you will be notified of your interview/audition date and time prior to April 4th, 2022. Please be mindful that directors of Schools-Within-a-School teach classes during the school day.
