updated blended learning model

Recently it was announced that high schools would be reopening and we wanted to reach out to clarify some details.

Please understand that this does not affect fully remote students. They will remain at home and continue to learn from home on Zoom every day.

Only blended in person students will be returning to school starting on Tuesday, April 20th for an 8:30am start of school if your child has a 1st period class.

Please also note that RFK changed its programming model while we were learning remotely since November in order to make scheduling more consistent and ensure 5 days of instruction for all students.

The schedule is as follows:

Mondays- all students stay home and sign in on Zoom remotely

Tuesdays- Groups A, B and C come to school. Group D stays home and sign in to Zoom remotely.

Wednesdays- Groups A, B and C come to school. Group D stays home and sign in to Zoom remotely.

Thursdays- Groups A, B and C come to school. Group D stays home and sign in to Zoom remotely.

Fridays- all students stay home and sign in on Zoom remotely

Please have your child log in to PupilPath in order to check their Group letter.

If you would like to change your child's learning preference to remain as we have been since November and would like your child to remain home remotely 100% of the time, you can email your child's guidance counselor (guidance@rfkchs.com) or our parent coordinator (majax@rfkchs.com) and include your child's name and your contact information in the request as soon as possible so that we can make adjustments before the reopening.

**Important Requirement to Return to School**

In order to attend school in person, your child must have a COVID testing consent form on file.

The easiest way to make sure this is complete is to sign up and sign into your New York City Student Account (NYCSA). Please understand that this is a parent account and a parent email should be used to sign up. Once logged in, you can click "Manage Account" and "Consent Forms" in order to give consent. If you do not have an account, please reach out to one of the people mentioned above for support.
