The RFA Planning Committee will be evaluating information and developing plans for level of service, finance, governance and other key issues related to regional delivery of fire and EMS. If feasible, the committee will draft a work plan for establishing an RFA and a ballot measure will be placed before voters in participating jurisdictions.
Three elected officials from each jurisdiction have been appointed to the RFA Planning Committee.
The RFA Planning Committee meets on the first Wednesday of each month at 6 p.m. The location rotates among the participating jurisdictions and is posted each month on the RFA Calendar. All meetings are open to the public and include time for citizen comments.
To facilitate this effort, the RFA Planning Committee has established three subcommittees on key issues:
The RFA Planning Committee met for the first time in March 2011. The committee has adopted a timeline for drafting an RFA Plan. The process is expected to take at least two years.The Regional Fire Authority Planning Committee will create a plan to deliver the highest quality fire protection and emergency medical services to the communities of south Snohomish County in the most efficient and effective manner.
