Memorial Day

Antique and vintage Memorial Day postcards are for sale at Reuzeit Emporium.. Decoration Day was first observed on May 5, 1866 in Waterloo, New York to honor the troops who died in the Civil War. The first official nationwide observation occurred on May 30, 1868. The name Memorial Day was first used around 1880 and was used interchangeably with Decoration Day after World War I.
