MAGYAR OLDAL

May I ask you a question?

Have you looked in the mirror today?
Most everyone has.  Generally speaking people spend a lot of time and money on their looks.  Does the bathroom mirror, however, reflect who you really are, what your life is like?

Many years ago the Greek philosopher Socrates questioned people about their self perceptions.  People then, like many today, did not make such an effort to consider seriously who they are and why.  What Socrates heard from people caused him to say, "An unexamined life is not worth living"!

Our culture tells us that our appearance and our lifestyle reflect primarily who we are.  Do you realize our culture's thinking runs directly against one of the greatest influential figures in history?  Jesus Christ said, "a man's life does not consist in the abundance of his possessions.Luke 12:15.

Our "human condition"

No matter how much we exercise, no matter how beautiful we make our homes, no matter how rich we become and no matter how much we know, it does not change the fact that life is seriously flawed.  Why else have you at some point been disillusioned about life or some part of it?

In this life and in people unfortunately, greed, injustice, unfairness, vengeance, immorality, disillusionment, self-centeredness and irresponsibility have the upper hand.  The Bible says this about what we all experience, "...sin entered the world through one man [Adam], and death through sin, and in this way death came to all men, because all sinned...Romans15:12.  As a result, "...the wages of sin is death..." Romans 6:23.

The perfect solution

There is a perfect solution to our "human condition".  The Bible says Jesus is that solution, "God presented him [Jesus] as a sacrifice of atonement,...Romans 3:25 and "He [Jesus] was delivered over to death for our sins and was raised to life for our justificationRomans 4:25.

Why try hopelessly and pointlessly to make your life, this life, better by external and metaphysical things?  When real life, free from the oppression and consequences of sin and death is freely available by repentance and faith in Jesus Christ and His work on the cross on your behalf.  A meaningful and truly fulfilling life is there for the taking!
