General Overview

Objective:  Develop a deeper understanding of  Component 3b: Using Questioning and Discussion Techniques, through observation, collaboration and planning.

In today's lesson, we will focus on Component 3b: Using Questioning and Discussion Techniques.  We will spend time watching video clips of classroom teachers as they demonstrate potential strategies/ non-strategies for how to use questioning strategies.  Additionally, as you will see in the lesson plan attached below, we have built in some time for you to work with your colleagues and begin to plan for how you might implement any new ideas that came from today's lesson.

The District has entered into an agreement with Educational Impact Online Learning Academy and have subscribed to three programs in the academy:

1.       Charlotte Danielson’s Teaching Framework

2.       22 Components of Great Teaching

3.       Teacher Evaluation – Using the Danielson Framework

All licensed employees should have received a login to the academy site located at  (log-in codes are at the bottom of the attached lesson plan) The District level School Improvement Day work will often center around lessons from the online academy.  The purpose is to assist educators in familiarizing and ultimately becoming proficient in the Redmond School Districts educator performance standards (aka FFT). You may log into the site at any time to watch teaching videos and or review any support materials.
