Mrs. Carpenter's Home Page

  • Unfinished classwork is homework.
  • Your homework 5 days a week is to read for at least 30 minutes and track your reading in your agenda.  You will also track all of the books that you read independently this year.
  • Your homework every other week is a fully completed vocab sheet.  You skim and scan ahead in your AIR book to identify 6 words you don't know well.  I will show you how to do this, if you are new.

The Redmond School District is pioneering a new language arts curriculum.  I expect that we will be working on the items listed below until our first conferences the week before Thanksgiving.

1. 7th Social Studies
  • Medieval Africa
  • Oregon Geography
2. 7th Language Arts
  • This is Your Brain
  • A Long Walk to Water by Linda Park
3. 8th Language Arts
  • This is Your Brain
  • Inside Out and Back Again by Thanhha Lai
4. 6th Language Arts
  • Friendly Letters
  • This is Your Brain
  • The Lightning Thief (Percy Jackson and the Olympians) by Rick Riordan

To contact Mrs. Carpenter, please use this email. I will contact you as soon as possible, usually within 24 hours.  (Please remember that I spend much of my day interacting with students.)
