1H Class Website: 2016-2017

I am currently on maternity leave and will be returning to Normandeau in April. This year I will be teaching Grade 1. I am also in charge of the Green Team at Normandeau.

I am a graduate of Notre Dame High School (Red Deer) and attended the University of Lethbridge. I graduated with a degree in Math Education and a degree in Science. I started teaching in 2009 and I have experience in Kindergarten, as well as Grades 1, 2, 3, 4 and 7. My philosophy for learning is that each child is unique, and each child learns in a different way. I believe in inclusive education, learning from hands-on experiences and learning through a variety of methods. Furthermore, I believe in allowing children to be able to grow in the areas of independence and responsibility. I am passionate about respecting the environmentStudents in my classroom will learn about reducing, reusing, recycling, composting and gardening.  I love traveling and enjoy learning about other cultures. I enjoy spending time cooking, reading, exercising and in the company of my family.  One of my favourite ways to relax is by practicing yoga. Students in my classroom will learn basic yoga poses.

Benefits From Yoga:
-Develop Body Awareness
-Manage stress through breathing, meditation and movement
-Build Concentration
-Increase confidence and positive self-image
