YEAR END ACTIVITIES:

Dear Parents,

It is hard to believe that we are already in the final two weeks of the school year. It has been an eventful and busy year here at Barrie Wilson and we are looking forward to a few exciting events in the last week:

Next Monday morning we will be hosting a special showcase assembly in the gym that will last most of the morning. All K-4 classes in the school will perform something that will showcase the work they have done throughout the year. As part of this assembly there will be a special presentation for all of our wonderful volunteers and a special tea in the gathering area during the intermission break. The choir presentation will be at 10:20 and the tea will be during the recess break at 10:30.

2. Grade 5 Farewell Assembly - Monday June 25 2:30 pm  We will be saying good bye and good luImage result for graduation clipartck to our grade 5’s with a special assembly in the gym beginning at 2:30 pm on Monday afternoon.  All parents are welcome to attend.

3. School Wide Play Day Tuesday June 26- All Day (alternate day is  Wednesday June 27)

We will be celebrating the end of the school year and the start of the summer with a whole school play day next Tuesday.  Students will spend either the morning or afternoon outside going through fun stations. The other half of the day will be spent taking part in fun active indoor activities. Parents are invited to join us for a picnic lunch starting at 11:30. Parent Council will be providing ice cream treats for all students and their families. During the lunch hour the dunk tank will be set up and students will have the chance to dunk a few of their teachers.

** We still need parent volunteers for this day. Can you help out? We are still looking for parents to help for either a half or full day with stations. If you can help please call the school office or your child’s teacher.**

If the Play Day is moved to Wednesday due to the weather, the Air Bands will take place a day early on Tuesday.

5. Last day of Classes Thursday June 28- The last day of classes for students will be Thursday, June 29. Kindergarten students will dismiss at 11:45  and Grade 1 - 5 students will dismiss at 2:25. VIP/Celebrity Spotlight

Please find your child’s name listed below for their special VIP week. Some weeks are 4 day weeks which means we will adjust the special Friday task to be added to Thursday. On the Friday before your child's week they will bring home a handout explaining Celebrity Spotlight and a poster for them to complete. This is a great activity for children to become comfortable sharing their ideas in front of the class and for their peers to get to know each child a bit better.
