Learning Assistance Teachers work collaboratively, as part of the Learning Support Team, to build the capacity of the school and its teachers for creating and sustaining inclusive educational environments that meet the diverse learning needs of all students. 

Ms. Melinda Hanson is the LAT (Learning Assistance Teacher) at Oriole Park. Part of her role is to deliver small group reading intervention with the Levelled Literacy Intervention (LLI) program. The LAT also assists in the development of Individualized Support Plans (ISP's), coordinates specialized services such as Speech and Language Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Assistive Technology, and more.
