Statistics College Prep

Course Description

Statistics College Prep is an activity-based mathematics elective that takes a hands-on approach to describing and extracting meaning from raw data, exploring relationships between variables, and studying random phenomena through the use of experimental and theoretical probability.  Students will apply these broad concepts to an assortment of real-world scenarios.  Statistics College Prep is a valuable course for college-bound students who plan to pursue post-secondary education in the natural and social sciences, STEM-related disciplines, or global studies.  Indicators of Success:  Proficiency through Algebra 2 or Integrated Math 4.  Information technology courses through Computer Applications 2 will also be important as Statistics College Prep makes substantial use of statistical software.
