1st Grade

1st Grade students continue to learn about the library as an information center.  They learn how to find books and check them out.  They learn to use a library marker for shelving books.  They learn how to take care of books.
We Give Books

We read a variety of books aloud.  Students begin to learn the difference between fiction (stories) and non-fiction (true or informational texts).  In this non-fiction story students learn about an injured dolphin and how a prothetic devise has helped her live a happier life.
