WELCOME TO RATON INTERMEDIATE SCHOOL, HOME OF THE TIGERS!

October 24, 2016

Dear Raton Intermediate Parents and Families,

Halloween is fast approaching!  All Halloween parties will be held on Friday, October 28th.  Please help us keep this event safe and fun, age appropriate for our young students, and family friendly!  Students can bring their costumes to school and will get dressed at the time their teacher designates.  Please check with your child’s teacher as each classroom is doing something different for their Halloween Party.

Please:

  • No clown costumes due to the recent scare with clowns.  We do not want to upset any child and make them feel scared.

  • Student costumes should not include play weapons, blood, or be gorey in nature.

  • Only students and staff in costumes.

  • Parents should not come to the school in costume.  We often times cannot identify who you are and would like to continue to keep our schools safe!

Later that evening, we will host our 1st Annual Halloween Carnival for all families in our community.  The Halloween Carnival will be from 5:00-7:00 pm followed by a Trunk or Treat on Pecos street on the south side of the building.  We will be selling game cards for $5, $10, & $20.  These cards can be used at all booths and at our concession stand.  We will have a Hover Ball booth that will be cash only! Come and enjoy the fun!

We are looking for volunteers to donate cupcakes for our Cupcake Walk!  If you are interested, please let the office know.  All cupcakes can be sent to school the morning of the 28th.  Please mark that they are for the Cupcake Walk.

Just a reminder that we will also have our Book Fair starting October 31st in the band room followed by Parent-Teacher Conferences on November 3rd from 4:00-7:00 pm and on November 4th from 8:00-12:00.  Please schedule a time to meet with your child’s teacher to see how your child is doing in school so far and watch for Book Fair Information coming soon.  If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to call.

Sincerely,

Kristie L. Medina
