Acting -- 4th Block, Fall Semester

This course is designed to provide a thorough examination of the theatrical arts, focusing in particular on skills related to acting, directing, and playwriting. The content will follow a rigorous understanding of preparation techniques, while also providing the students with a survey of reputable acting methods to establish a broad understanding of the art form. In addition to focusing on these techniques, the course will provide an overview of the fundamentals of dramatic principles, playwriting techniques, directing techniques aspects of technical theatre, and the theatrical production process.

The student will be able to learn and apply various acting techniques and methods, and use them in performance. Also, the student will gain an understanding and appreciation of acting as an art form; gain a fundamental insight into its processes; and gain an awareness of its unique aesthetics. Additionally, the student will have hands-on opportunities with other theatrical art forms, such as directing, playwriting, and the various technical theatrical arts.
