The Randolph Livestock & Poultry Improvement Assoc. is a non-profit that was formed in 1964 to serve as a common interest organization for livestock and poultry producers as well as those interested in the improvement and promotion of the livestock and poultry industries in North Carolina, specifically Randolph County. 
The primary objectives of the association include:
  • Provide educational opportunities to livestock and poultry producers in Randolph County through educational programs, tours, and field days.
  • Fund Scholarships for college students who are enrolled in agricultural degree programs.
  • Support youth educational opportunities conducted through the 4-H and FFA Programs.
  • Promote healthy livestock and poultry production practices to ensure industry quality in Randolph County
  • Support farm preservation programs to ensure economic diversity and quality of living standards in Randolph County.
Benefits of joining the association include:
  • Three free membership dinners per year in promotion of the beef, poultry, and pork industries
  • Members can rent association equipment including a sod drill, and head gate
  • Fellowship and networking opportunities with fellow producers and interested partners within the county
  • Industry educational tours to a variety of livestock and poultry operations locally and statewide.
  • Newsletters published throughout the year to keep members informed of upcoming events and educational items of interest.
According to the 2007 Census of Agriculture, Randolph County had 1501 farms and ranked among North Carolina’s top ten counties for the total value of agricultural products sold. Poultry and eggs, dairy products, and cattle/calves make up the largest parts of Randolph County’s agricultural income, but a diverse array of agriculture exists.
