Service Project

The student council is sponsoring a service project where we are gathering food items for the Ambridge Food Pantry. Our students have been challenged to bring over 2000 items for the food pantry. Currently, we are on pace to exceed this goal. If we as a school exceed this goal, we will have a school-wide breakfast on Wednesday, November 23rd right before Thanksgiving Break. We believe it's important, especially during this Thanksgiving season, to help others who may be going through a difficult season in life. Our students have once again proved to be amazing when it comes to rallying behind a cause. Special thanks to Mr. Long and the student council members.

After School Activities and Homework Hub

Middle school is a time for exploration and connection, and we hope that all students find a connection somewhere at the middle school. A beneficial component to the connection and exploration piece is QVMS Activities or otherwise known as extracurricular activities. We not only want to provide multiple opportunities for all students, we hope to communicate these to students and parents so students maximize their middle school experience. Please visit the QVMS Activities link to the left and find the right activity that fits your needs and interests.

The Homework Hub is another new feature to the middle school this year. We want to create a consistent place for students and parents which they can access anytime and receive relevant information about every class. Consistency and communication are so important in these middle years and we believe this communication will help students and parents alike. The feedback we have received to this point has been extremely positive. The teacher sites and team calendars could and should be extremely helpful.

A Great Start

We are a few weeks into the start of a new school year. There is something to be said for the importance of a strong beginning. The amount of work completed this summer by the maintenance, the custodians, the teachers, and the administrative assistants was nothing short of amazing. So much thought was put into this school year that I am extremely confident we will thrive this school year with all students at Anthony Wayne. I will use this blog throughout the year to highlight some events and communicate important information. I hope parents and students find these sites helpful as we continue to streamline what we do as a middle school. Let's have the best year ever.
