The Quass's

Family Members

We recently made claymation video for Christmas.  A lot of time was spent building the figures and capturing the images. It was a lot more work than we anticipated. We ended up spending about 8 hours filming for a 15-second video. We used MonkeyJam with a digital video camera to capture the images. If you have Windows Media Player, you can click here to see the video (1.7Mb).

We are members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Faith in Jesus Christ strengthens our family, and is an important part of our life.

Dallan and Solveig met at Brigham Young University in January 1984 and were married later that year. We stayed at BYU until 1988. During that time Solveig finished her law degree and started practicing law while Dallan worked as a programmer for the university and finished a master's degree in computer science.

In 1988 we moved to the Bay Area so that Dallan could begin a PhD at Stanford. Solveig continued practicing law while Dallan studied.  We loved living in the Bay Area.

After finishing studying at Stanford Dallan and Solveig moved to Utah.  Dallan taught at Brigham Young University for a few years and then co-founded Whizbang and Flipdog. We lived in Utah for about 10 years and now live in Minnesota.

The whole family is now very involved in

Dallan loves to work on computers.  He learned to program in high-school because he liked playing computer games but couldn't afford to buy commercial ones.  He also loves reading, movies, and bike riding.  He spends most of his time working on

Solveig loves gardening, cooking, and painting.  She is really into the Twilight series!  She has read them more than once.  She spends most of her time working on with Dallan.

Seventeen months later Taylor was born. Taylor is the only one who is not adopted. Taylor has brown hair and big dark eyes. Taylor is great inventor; he always has a new contraption to solve some problem. He loves sci-fi, computer games and the trumpet.  Taylor graduated from Mounds View High School in 2009. He is now a freshman at Brigham Young University.
