Welcome to the CUNY Service Corps at Queens College!

We are a community of students, faculty and staff. Our goal is to work on projects that improve the short and long-term civic, economic and environmental sustainability of New York City. Here at Queens College we are proud to be one of the founding members involved in this important collaboration, which extends to include other seven colleges across CUNY.

The way we accomplish our goal is by partnering with local community organizations and government agencies, that work every day to better the lives of people across the five boroughs of New York City. Every year, since 2013, we call, recruit, select, empower and send out our Queens College students to help and serve their own communities.

We strike to offer you, and every Queens College student the opportunity to embody our own campus' motto: Discimus ut serviamos: "We learn so we may serve". Service Corps members commit to a year-long paid experiential learning program, in which they work under the supervision and mentorship of our community and faculty partners. Our Service Corps members also engage in thoughtful reflection to develop professional and interpersonal skills via monthly trainings and semesterly small group and individual meetings.
