___Mrs. Hoffler - Principal

Welcome to Vista Verde Middle School.  It is my pleasure to serve as your Principal.   I would like you to know that I am here to support each of you, help you succeed, and enjoy your middle school years.  My role is to assist students, parents, and teachers in making each student’s time in middle school safe, enjoyable, and a great learning experience.

Let me tell you a little bit about me…

I am Mrs. Hoffler.  I was born in Brooklyn, New York and moved to Arizona in 1979.  I grew up and attended school in the Deer Valley School District in Glendale, AZ.  I received my B.S. at ASU and M.Ed. from Northern Arizona University, Go Devils!   I started my teaching career in 1995 in the Deer Valley School District, where I taught middle school math for ten years.  During this time I also coached girls volleyball and basketball, and was the athletic director at the middle school level.  I came to PVUSD in 2005 to be the Assistant Principal at Sunrise Middle School.  From 2009-2011, I was the principal of Sunset Canyon Elementary School in PV.  I am very excited to be at Vista Verde and back in the "Middle Level" where my love and passion is.  On my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my husband, children, family and friends.

At Vista Verde, there are many opportunities for students to become successful. Our teachers are committed to providing meaningful engaging instruction.  Parents, please encourage your son or daughter to expand his/her horizons by participating in as many activities as possible.  Research shows that the more students get actively involved in their school, the more successful they are.  After school clubs/sports teams allow our students a great opportunity to meet many students with the same interest as theirs.

Please feel free to call, email, or drop by if you have any questions or would just like to introduce yourself.  I believe in the value of parents, students and the school working together as a TEAM (Together Everyone Achieves More).

I would like to say that I am extremely excited to be in my 8th year as Vista Verde Middle School’s Assistant Principal.  It is my intent on making your child’s two years here as enjoyable and productive as possible.  My number 1 job at VVMS is student safety.  If there is anything that I can do, please do not hesitate to call, come in, or e-mail me.  Working together will help ensure a successful middle school experience.

A little about myself ….

I grew up in Connecticut and moved to Arizona in 1978.  I am a proud product of the Paradise Valley School District having graduated from Desert Shadows Middle School (‘79), and Horizon High School (’83).  It was then off to Arizona State University for an undergraduate degree in Business (’87).  It wasn’t until after college that I found my passion for teaching.  I obtained my certificate through Ottawa University and my Masters in Educational Leadership from Northern Arizona University.  My teaching career began at my Alma Mater, DSMS.  There I taught Social Studies, PE, and Math.  I coached basketball and football, and was the school’s Athletic Director.  My coaching experience also includes football and basketball at Horizon High School.  I am a proud father of 4 boys; all attended Campo Bellow ES, VVMS, and Paradise Valley High School.  (Your neighborhood is also my neighborhood!) I am also a grandpa of a beautiful baby boy!

There are some things that will help your son or daughter achieve success: daily attendance, a filled-out planner, and parent involvement.  The law requires coming to school and when students miss school, he or she misses instruction.  We equip each student with a planner to write down assignments and homework.  Parents can monitor grades and assignments by logging in to Infinite Campus, our student management system.  Statistics show that high levels of parent involvement result in higher levels of achievement.  We have multiple opportunities for parents to help out here at VVMS.

I look forward to working together with you and your child!
