Mentorship

“It’s because of the people who are working toward sustainability, and because of my own experience, that I know how quickly the decision to go that direction, though it may start out with a feeling of sacrifice, turns into a lifetime of rejoicing.”
Donella Meadows, Pew Scholar & MacArthur Fellow, Harvard & MIT Professor

The CREST Sustainability program is only as strong as the students in it. With that, the CREST Sustainability Peer Mentorship Program has been established. In this program an upperclassman has been partnered with an underclassmen, allowing for direct mentorship and guidance at the peer level. Upperclassmen are charged with giving advice and support to transitioning underclassmen with help in areas such as portfolio development, lab book  structuring, current event research and attending outside events. Also, upperclassmen are to help with study skills, time management, organization and other non-academic areas to ensure that each student has the best chance possible to succeed in the program.
