The Computer Technologies curriculum provides students the opportunity to meaningfully engage in technology by helping teachers and staff. They will collaborate directly with teachers to implement 21st-century skills into the classroom and develop skills related to computer technologies, concepts, and terminology. Through technology projects, they learn the functions of computers in education, business, and society. Ethical solutions, social networking, and media sharing are investigated along with extensive use of word processing, spreadsheet, database, and presentation software. Hands-on experiences include exploring Web 2.0, diverse operating systems, and emerging technologies for potential classroom implementation. GenYES students will troubleshoot computer problems in hardware and software while working with teachers as mentors in general computer usage.
