Production Based Incentive Program – PVUSD participation:
- APS Renewable Energy Incentive Program will pay and estimated $44.5 million to PVUSD over the next 20 years (we’re estimating that our program will pay about $260 million dollars in incentives to public K-12 schools over the next 20 years. About 18% of that amount will be for PVUSD alone).
- Systems are estimated to produce over 560,000 MWHs over the life of the APS agreements
- Out of the approximately 70 school districts participating in our program, PVUSD, by far, has the largest number of projects and greatest amount of PV capacity being installed.
- Out of ALL APS customers participating in our incentive program, only a few have as much PV capacity being installed within the APS service territory
PVUSD is among the top “solar” school districts in the country.
The FROST program -- Free Resources for Online Student Tutoring – connects National Honor Society students with their K-12 peers to provide free after-school online tutoring. Students can take advantage of the system on a home computer, on vacation, or anywhere there’s an Internet connection.
The FROST system uses Webex technology for online screen sharing and optional two-way audio-video. After making the connection, peer tutors can tap into tools such as drawing, text, shapes and colors on a virtual whiteboard to help their students understand new concepts.
Live homework help is available between 4 and 8 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday.
By visiting pvschools.net/HomeworkHelp, students can learn how the system works and access the links to start a tutoring session. All sessions are monitored by certified PV Schools teachers.
Students have received their ID badges as of Tuesday 8/13/13. It is now required that all students wear their IDs on a lanyard around their necks at all times (lanyard were provided). If an ID is lost or destroyed, the student must replace the ID in the media center for $5.
