Google Apps for Students

Activate Your Account...For First Time Users

All students have a "Google Apps for Students" account with a unique username and password.

This is different from the Portal---see Portal info on right.

Classes of 2015, 2016 & 2017

Activate your account with these instructions:

1. Click (& bookmark) this address.

2. Enter your username.

last name + first initial + two digits of graduation year

For example: gagal13 = Lady Gaga graduates in 2013.

Duplicate Names:
If you are unsuccessful, there could be a duplicate name in our school district. Try adding a second letter of your first name. For example, the second Lady Gaga in our district would log in with gagala13.

3. Enter your 8 character password.

first initial + last initial + 5-digit student # + !
For example, for Lady Gaga: lg64680!

Don't know your student #?
For most, it is a 5-digit # on your student ID card.
It also shows up on your
printed schedule.

If you have any questions or if your student ID isn't 5 digits to create an 8 character password, call Ms. McBain at 530.886.4440. She'll get you set up.

Class of 2014

Your instructions are the same as later graduating classes EXCEPT you may not need an exclamation point. Google now requires an 8-character minimum. Sorry for this confusion, but try activating without an exclamation point first. If unsuccessful, add the exclamation point to reach 8 characters.

Still Having
Trouble Getting In

If you are new to our school district, see instructions above.

If you are asked to type in a "funky font" code to finish the activation, it's possible you've either mis-typed your username, entered the wrong password, or we've made an error.

Please carefully read over the above instructions once more. If you continue to have trouble, contact Ms. McBain at 530.886.4440.

Change Your Password

Because Google Apps allows you to share documents and websites with teachers and other students, there is no reason to share your password. So please keep your password secure by not sharing it with anyone.

But if your password gets out, we recommend you change it by clicking the Settings link within your Mail App. Then click Accounts and finally Google Account Settings.

Watch this video: Change Your Own Password.

Here are tips for creating your password, and keeping it safe:
  • Never tell anyone your password.
  • It should be easy for you to remember without being obvious for someone else to guess.
  • Never write down your password. Even though your password will look random to others, think of a way to remember it so that you don't have to write it down.
  • Change your password periodically.
  • Don't choose a dictionary word as your password. Be creative.
  • Include punctuation marks. Mix capital and lowercase letters and use a number. A variety of characters makes it harder to hack.
