Online Class Registration
Online Class Registration for 2019-2020 will begin on 2/1 and the portal will be open for 10 days. Follow Directions on the back of your Course Selection Worksheet. Counselors will meet with every 9-11th grader one on one starting in 2 weeks.

Scholarships
Did you know, Placer Union High School District has a comprehensive list of scholarships available to our graduating students? Take a look at the District Scholarship Bulletin to find the scholarship that's right for you. Seniors applying for Placer High only scholarships may use the Senior Scholarship Application. If you need a letter of recommendation please complete the request for letter of recommendation online and email it to your teacher/counselor.

E-Cigarettes 101:Understanding the vaping craze parent information night

Vaping has reached "epidemic proportions" among youth. Come learn what vaping is, what the dangers are, and how to talk with your youth about it. Alexandra Wride from the Placer County Tobacco Prevention Program will be speaking and answering questions.

Sierra College Enrollment Applications and/or Academic Enrichment

Sierra College Application Workshops are Monday mornings during 2nd and 3rd in the Career Center. Stop by or sign up with Mrs. Pearson in the counseling office. Seniors can actually submit their applications for Summer/Fall. Juniors can use this opportunity to apply for Academic Enrichment. Sophomores can apply to start taking academic enrichment classes in the summer. Academic Enrichment classes are free at Sierra College, students are only responsible for paying for books and any misc fees. Bring your chromebook and social security number to complete the application. Make an appointment to see Mrs. Garcia or Mr. Ward in the counseling office to schedule your Sierra College Classes.

Careers In Construction Workshops
Placer High School will be hosting after school construction workshops for PUHSD juniors and seniors.  Juniors who attend the workshops will be eligible to apply for a paid internships next summer.  Seniors will be invited to a career fair in April.  Many of our summer intern hosts are willing to hire seniors that will be attending college part-time upon graduation. Of the 60 seniors who attended the trades career fair in April, 58 were offered employment.

All workshops are held in Mr. Conleys room. Students must bring two photo release forms to the first workshop and sign up here: Careers in Construction

FBI Teen Academy
The Spring 2019 Sacramento FBI Academy will welcome a select number of high school juniors to their Sacramento field office headquarters on Friday, April 12, 2019. This program is available to all Juniors with an interest in the FBI and their investigations. This Teen/Youth Academy allows high school students an opportunity to get a comprehensive look into today’s FBI. Students will attend presentations and demonstrations on topics such as terrorism, public corruption, polygraph exams, evidence response, SWAT, and the day-to-day operations of a typical FBI office. Students will be evaluated based on their application and essay to determine which students will be offered the opportunity to attend the class. Punctuality, professional behavior and appropriate dress will be required of all students attending this program. To apply, follow the instructions and complete the Spring 2019 FBI Teen Academy Application. Applications must be received by 4pm on Monday, March 11, 2019.

Host an International High School Student for the 2019 School Year

Become a volunteer host family and learn firsthand about another culture right in your own home. Hosting a high school exchange student will broaden your view of the world and bring your family an informed global perspective. You and your family will form new and lasting friendships and you will give a foreign student the opportunity to know the “real” America.
