She has implemented new programs and technology into classrooms throughout the district to help measure student learning and progress, and is working with staff to improve the quality of our classrooms with new furniture and technology, addressing aging buildings by developing a facilities improvement plan, and has brought art back into the classrooms throughout our elementary schools. Dr. Jones has also played an instrumental role in revitalizing the career and technical education programs in the middle and high schools to ensure every student graduates with the knowledge and skills to go to college, receive technical training or go directly into the workforce.
In addition to her school district responsibilities, Dr. Jones has been very active in the community. She is a member of Rotary #43, volunteers with the Salvation Army, supports both the Greater Pueblo and Latino Chambers of Commerce and is an active donor with the Pueblo United Way and numerous other organizations.
