Welcome to Mrs. Gifford's Website!!

Hello! I hope you are ready for the 2019-2020 school year! We have a very exciting year planned! As always, homework is EXTREMELY important in mathematics.  It provides you with a bit of independent practice away from school. As a student at Corwin International Magnet School, you need to be balanced with all of your subjects in completing your assignments. At times you may need to be a risk taker and try all of the problems out, even if you think they may be wrong. As a reflective student, you will learn from your mistakes. In my classroom, I expect everyone to understand that each student is entitled to a respectful and accepting learning environment.  At no time is anyone allowed to infringe on that right.  I am so proud to be your math teacher this year and am looking forward to a wonderful math experience!

Teacher Bio

This is my eleventh year teaching here at Corwin International Magnet School.  Before teaching here, I taught for two years in Bloomfield, New Mexico.  My time teaching in New Mexico was an invaluable experience, but I am a Pueblo native and I am so glad to be back home near family.  I have been married for 20 years and have two kids, one here at CIMS and the other at Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa.  I received my Bachelor's Degree from Washburn University in Topeka, Kansas and have had experience teaching several subjects at the middle school and high school level.
