Welcome 8th Graders and 8th Grade Parents!

In order to be successful this year, here are a few expectations for all classes, across the board.
  • Citations--you are expected to cite your sources for any assignment requiring research, no matter what class.  Citations should be in MLA format--which will be discussed in Individuals & Societies Class.
  • Time Management--you are expected to use class work time wisely.  If you use this time productively, you should be able to minimize the amount of homework you have each night, but you may still expect to have homework regularly.  You can expect approximately one major project per class, per quarter.
  • ATL Skills--you are expected to be on time for classes, prepared for work, and ready to cooperate with your peers and teachers.  If you make wise choices for yourselves, we will not have to make your choices for you.
  • Technology--you are expected to follow CIMS technology guidelines at all times. Failure to do so will result in loss of technology privileges. As per Pueblo City School requirements, all cell phones must be off, and out of sight at all times. Failure to do so will result in confiscation of your phones.
  • Email--you are expected to check your email and Infinite Campus regularly.  Your best opportunity to check your e-mail and Infinite Campus would be in your Design class or any time you have access to technology.
  • Elitch's and other VSA Eligibility--in order to be able to attend VSAs including the annual Eighth Grade Elitch's trip, students will have to meet specific requirements:
    • No missing summative assessments in any classes.
    • No office referrals.
    • No uniform or attendance infractions resulting in detention.
    • Some students may have the option of appealing ineligibility no less than two weeks prior to the Elitch's VSA.  Those eligible for appeal will be notified.
