Blossom Festival Information:  Beginning Band and Concert Band
April 15 (Saturday) Rehearsal at P.A.A. from 9:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m.
April 22 (Saturday) 
Rehearsal at P.A.A. from 9:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m.
April 29 (Saturday) 
Rehearsal at P.A.A. from 9:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m.
May 6 (Saturday)  Depart P.A.A. @ 12:00 P.M.  A schedule for the day will be attached to your permission slip.

Concert Dates for 2016-2017

 

Thursday, March 30 2017: South Quadrant Band Festival @ South High School. (Beginning Band and Concert Band)  The concert begins at 7:00 p.m.  All musicians report to South High School at 6:30 p.m.

Thursday, April 6 2017: CHSAA Large Group Instrumental Festival @ Pueblo West High School. (Concert Band and Advanced String Orchestra)  Transportation is provided.  Times will be announced.



Saturday, May 6:  Canon City Music and Blossom Festival.  Beginning Band and Concert Band will combine into one marching band.  The parade begins at 1:00.  Information and permission slips will be handed out in April.


Thursday, May 25, 2017, 7:00 p.m. @ Phoenix Theater, P.A.A.   Beginning Band, Beginning Strings, Concert Band, Advanced Orchestra, Advanced Concert Choir and Jazz Ensemble.



Concert Dress is:
Young ladies must wear a black skirt or black pants and a white shirt or blouse.  Dress shoes must be black.  The length of a young performer's skirt should be below the knees because the students are seated on the elevated stage.

Young gentlemen must wear black pants, a white button-up shirt, a tie and black dress shoes.

Tennis shoes do not have a place on the concert stage.

Required Materials for Mr. Bushkovski's Classes:

Advanced Concert Choir: Composition book, great attitude, love for singing.

Guitar:  Acoustic Guitar, Christopher Parkening Guitar Method Book 1 and a composition book.

Beginning Strings: Purchase or rental of a violin, viola or cello (P.A.A. can provide basses.) "All for Strings Book 1" and a composition book.  Violin and viola players must purchase a shoulder rest for their violin.  

Orchestra:  Rental or purchase of a violin, viola or cello (P.A.A. can provide basses), Shoulder rest for violin or viola. "All For Strings Book 2" and a composition book.

Beginning Band:  Rental or purchase of student instrument: flute, clarinet, saxophone, trumpet, trombone including the appropriat cleaning kit:(P.A.A. can provide tuba, baritone, french horn, bassoon).  Percussionists must purchase thier own sticks and mallets.   "Essential Elements 2000 Book 1" and a composition book.

Concert Band: Rental or purchase of student instrument: flute, clarinet, saxophone, trumpet, trombone including the appropriate cleaning kit:  (P.A.A. can provide tuba, baritone, french horn, bassoon).  Percussionists must purchase thier own sticks and mallets.   "Essential Elements 2000 Book 2" and a composition book.


Jazz Band:  Instrument, composition book and amazing attitude.  (P.A.A. provides the Baritone Saxophone and Tenor Saxophone if needed.)
