Dr. Amjed Almousa

Biography:

Dr. Amjed Almousa has been an assistant professor at the Computer Engineering Department at Princess Sumaya University for Technology since 2012. He has received his Ph.D. from Santa Clara University, M.Sc. from Virginia Tech and B.Sc. from University of Jordan all in Electrical Engineering. Dr. Amjed combines this academic experience with more than 13 years of industry experience from the heart of Silicon Valley. He started his career by working at Intel Corporation in 2001 at the Graphics Department, and then moved to work on statistical analysis tools at PDF solutions in 2005. More recently in 2009 he took a senior manager position for data analytics at SEVEN networks, a mobile messaging firm. In this last position, he gained firsthand experience in cloud computing and big data. Dr. Amjed research interests are in applications of fuzzy logic for control & Intelligent systems. The use and applications of Big Data, and cloud computing to serve IoT devices. Also he is working on nano-particles AFM image characterization. He is a senior IEEE member, JEA, Sigma Xi, MRS members.

Dr. Belal H. Sababha

Biography:

Belal H. Sababha is the Acting Dean of the King Abdullah II Faculty of Engineering at Princess Sumaya University for Technology (PSUT) since October 2015. He joined PSU as an Assistant Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering in the Computer Engineering Department on January 2012. He is the Co-Founder of the Intelligent and Embedded Systems Research Group at PSUT. Before joining PSUT he worked as a Senior Controls Engineer in the Powertrain Controls department at Chrysler Group LLC, Michigan USA. Belal received his PhD degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering – Embedded Systems from Oakland University, MI, USA in 2011. He has taught electrical and computer engineering undergrad and grad courses at various universities in the US and Jordan. Dr. Sababha has extensive experience in embedded systems design, control algorithm design and software development with applications related to Gasoline Engine Controls and Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs). He is a consultant in the fields of Embedded Systems and UAV design and control for various governmental and commercial firms. His research concentration areas are UAV development, Biomedical instrumentation, sensor communication, routing in wireless ad hoc networks, embedded RTOS, CAN networks, distributed embedded systems, graceful degradation in embedded systems, rapid prototyping, and machine vision. Moreover, he has several years of experience as an ICT Director. He is an IEEE Senior member and a member of IEEE-RAS, ASME, AIAA and JEA.
