Join PSGMC on Wednesday, December 12, from 9:30 am to noon at the Parsippany-Troy Hills Library to hear John Hadley’s presentation on using a story to get hired.

John Hadley has coached hundreds of job seekers, and along the way has seen all sorts of traps that trip up candidates, often without them even being aware they’ve done anything wrong. 

He’ll impart the same insights he shares with his 1-on-1 coaching clients to make sure they don't get snared by these traps!  After all, if you don't even know you've done something wrong, how can you ever hope to fix the problem? 

John Hadley teaches job seekers who are frustrated with their search strategies and skills to tap into the 'hidden' job market and land the job and pay they deserve. The Professional Support Group of Morris County will not be meeting this week, Wednesday, November 30. Sessions will resume on Wednesday, December 5.  

Begun by job seekers to help job seekers, PSGMC was founded to provide a supportive community, training, resources, and volunteering opportunities that enable professionals to find their marketplace value and network into employment. 

Through the lively exchange of ideas, PSGMC helps job seekers learn the new skills needed to successfully navigate the hiring process and rejoin the workforce.

10/31 Presentation: Mary Anne Kennedy – Finding the Right Job

Join PSGMC and Mary Anne Kennedy, author of Finding The Right Job; A Step By Step Approach, on Wednesday, October 31at the Parsippany-Troy Hills Public Library.

Kennedy is a senior human resources consultant providing small to medium sized business owners with the full spectrum of HR services and programs, including all aspects of talent acquisition (from full cycle recruitment to succession planning and performance management.



Before launching her business, she spent eight years with Bristol Myers Squibb, a Fortune 100 pharmaceutical company, in a variety of human resources leadership roles. She served as the HR generalist for Herman Miller, a high-end office furniture manufacturer and as a successful senior HR consultant for a wide range of employers both for-profit and not-for-profit.

Kennedy is a sought-after speaker on HR topics, including coaching and mentoring, succession planning, performance management, reward and recognition programs and career coaching. She was the co-founder of the St. Paul's Networking Group in Princeton, NJ which provided career coaching for those in transition. The model has been replicated by numerous networking groups.

Kennedy holds a bachelor's degree in social science, certifications in Myers Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) administration and DDI Behavior Based interviewing.

Doors open at 9 a.m. for networking, with the program to follow at 9:30 a.m. The library is located at 449 Halsey Road, Parsippany.

The Professional Support Group of Morris County will not be meeting this week, Wednesday, October 24. Sessions will resume on Wednesday, October 31, with a discussion led by Mary Anne Kennedy, principal consultant at MAKHR.

 Since its launch in 2012, the Professional Support Group of Morris County (PSGMC) has supported workers in transition by providing – free of charge – weekly meetings led by some of the best job coaches and life planners in the state. Each meeting also offers the opportunity to network with friendly, helpful people who know what it is like in today’s job market.

 Through the lively exchange of ideas, PSGMC helps job seekers learn the new skills needed to successfully navigate the hiring process and rejoin the workforce.

10/10 Presentation: Paul Cecala : Perfect Your Listening Skills

Too often people fret that they either do not know how to start a networking conversation or cannot remember the people they spoke to. In most cases, being a better listener will make both these concerns disappear.

Join Paul Cecala at the Professional Support Group of Morris County on Wednesday, October 10, from 9:30 am – noon at the Parsippany-Troy Hills Public Library, 449 Halsey Road.

This interactive workshop will allow participants to practice new or existing listening skills. Perfect 3 types of listening – Intentional, Inquisitive, and Reflective. Learn how better listening and less talking makes others more memorable.


Paul Cecala is a Five O’Clock Club Certified Career Coach has assisted more than 3,000 people in starting their professional lives or changing careers, since he began career coaching in 1999. In addition to his work at post-secondary schools as director of career services, specializing in biotech/pharmaceutical careers, green economy jobs aviation, allied health, IT and general administrative professions, he has worked a program manager for lifelong learning and workforce development training at Fairleigh Dickinson University and the County College of Morris. Additionally, he helped develop the job search training process for severs job search groups sponsored by the New Jersey Department of Labor.

Paul earned a bachelor of science degree in psychology from the Florida Institute of Technology. Prior to c, including as vice president of aircraft charter sales for a nationwide industry leader

10/3 Presentation: Alex Freund: Body Language and Interview Success

Nonverbal cues – posture, facial expression, eye contact and tone of voice – often speak more powerfully than words when people communicate with one another. Learn to use body language during job interviews to leave a positive impression by joining PSGMC and Alex Freund, the Landing Expert, on Wednesday, October 3, from 9:30 am – 12:00 pm, at the Parsippany-Troy Hills Public Library.

In this presentation, you will learn how to read the interviewer’s body language and strengthen your own during the interview process. Alex will provide tips to give you a distinct competitive advantage.  

Career coach Alex Freund is well-known in a number of networking groups and writes a blog for job seekers. A Cornell University graduate, he has lived on three continents and speaks five languages. Prior to his current position, he managed several large departments in two Fortune 100 companies.  For those in the Connecticut, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and New York City area, Alex publishes a free directory of job-search networking groups.
