Welcome to the 2018-2019 School Year!
           I am thrilled to embark on a new school year with your children.  I have been teaching the fourth grade for the past 14 years and I love my profession.  This year the fourth grade students will be using both Expeditionary Learning and Treasures for literacy.  The students will be using the Go Math curriculum for math which is completely aligned with the Common Core.  All parents can visit the Engage NY Website without needing a username or password.  You can easily access the Engage NY website by going directly to  In addition, you can access the Go Math website by going directly to 
Think Central . 
1. Go to (Scroll down to NYC Dept of ED NY, NY 10007
2. Select your state, district, and school (Scroll down to P.S. 108Q Captain Vincent G. Fowler
3. Enter your username and password. (The Username is your child's first and last name put together in lower case letters.  The password is your child's ID#)
Students can also access the myOn website for reading practice as well.
Getting Started:
1. Visit myOn 
2. Enter 108 to find our school in the drop down menu. Click on 27Q108 PS Capt Vincent G Fowler.
3. Enter Username: Student ID/Osis #
4. Enter Password: Their password is the number 1 followed by the first two initials of the student's first name.
5. Get started!

Literacy - In the next few months, we will be reading an exciting novel, Eagle Song, and completing a unit on Native Americans. Students are currently working on improving their reading skills and learning new strategies in both shared and guided reading.

Math - This month in math, we are working on place value.  Please remember to practice your multiplication tables every day.
