Teacher of the Year
Kelly Daugherty is Lincoln's Teacher of the Year. About receiving this honor, Mrs. Daugherty said,

"I have been teaching for 20 years now. My first 14 years were spent teaching at Bernita Hughes Elementary School in Adair, OK. I was a computer teacher for two years before moving to 5th grade. I left Adair and came to Pryor. This is my 6th year in Pryor at Lincoln Elementary.

Here I spent 2 more years in 5th grade before moving up to 6th grade. I have taught all subjects but my passion is teaching Science and Social Studies. I love teaching because no day is ever the same and every day my life is touched by current and former students. There is no better feeling than talking to former students and hearing about their lives.

I feel like a celebrity when I am getting out of the car and hear my name yelled across a parking lot. The hugs and smiles from students are one of the best parts of my life. It is so fun watching learners reactions and excitement as they explore and learn doing some cool experiment or project. I am very blessed and work with a great bunch of people. I am thankful for this honor."

Lincoln Elementary Wins Title of One of the Healthiest Schools in America

Lincoln Elementary was recently named one of the Healthiest Schools in America by the Alliance for a Healthier Generation. As the only school in Oklahoma to win this award; this is quite an honor for Lincoln.

Principal Karen Cook stated, "Here in Oklahoma, our health statistics are pretty horrible. That’s why it’s so important that our kids learn how to take good care of themselves when they’re young." To read the full article, click here
