Welcome to Pryor Public Schools!

Expect Excellence!

It is my pleasure to welcome you to Pryor Public Schools. Pryor is a wonderful community with something to offer for just about everyone. Our school district enjoys strong support from the Pryor community and a high level of parental involvement in every area of our school.

Our district includes three elementary schools, a traditional junior high school and a high school with outstanding facilities throughout the district. We are currently serving approximately 2750 students in grades Pre-K-12.

Our staff is a well-experienced group of educators with a resume of successful years of teaching and learning. They continually show a level of commitment and care about our students’ learning. Our district continues to strive toward building a professional learning community, where teachers hold high expectations and refuse to allow students to fail.

We have integrated technology into each of our schools and continue to strive to equip our students and teachers with technology to meet their needs. Each school site has up to date technology throughout our classrooms, and we host a 1 to 1 Chromebook implementation from grades 6 through 12 with lower grades provided Chromebooks in their classrooms. We have a robust professional development program facilitated at our Pryor Education Service Center.

Our students consistently score above the state average on the state-mandated tests, and all of our school sites have implemented a character education program based upon the 7 Habits of Highly Effective People called The Leader in Me.  This leadership and personal responsibility approach is providing our students the opportunity to grow and showcase their leadership skills. All of our school sites provide career exploration opportunities for all students as we work with colleges, CareerTech, business and industry to prepare our students to be college and career ready.  Two of our elementary schools have been recognized as national “Blue Ribbon Schools." Two of our elementary schools (Jefferson & Lincoln), our JH, and HS have all been named as State Schools of Character and National Schools of Character and Roosevelt Elementary was designated as the first “Lighthouse School” in Oklahoma by the Franklin Covey organization.

We are proud of the many opportunities we have for our students. Pryor High School enjoys one of the strongest fine art departments in Oklahoma. The award winning instrumental and vocal music programs are well respected across the state.   A number of opportunities also exist for all students to participate including FFA, FCCLA, student government, academic teams and honor classes in most academic subjects. A variety of sports including baseball, basketball, cross-country, football, wrestling, golf, soccer, softball, tennis and track are also part of our school programs.

Welcome to Pryor! Home of the Tigers!
