Ste. Marie Remembers

posted Nov 9, 2017, 11:04 AM by Teri Young

The Ste. Marie students and staff gathered today for our Remembrance Day service. We stood for two minutes of silence, each grade level shared a poem, or their personal thoughts on Remembrance Day, and the importance of this day in history, and we ended with a brief video posted by the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch #3.

Gen WE

posted Oct 26, 2017, 12:16 PM by Teri Young

On October 25th, 2017, the middle years students, Mrs. De Ruyck, and Miss Young traveled to Winnipeg for this years WE Day celebration. We were fortunate to be given floor seats to this years. The students were energized by the guest DJ’s “Celebrity Marauders”, inspired by guest speakers such as Sarah Wells, Alexandre Trudeau, Ben Sabic, Kerry Kennedy, and George Takei, and engaged through the performances of Tyler Shaw, and Jully Black.

WE Day continues to be a positive experience for all students and staff who attend, and we are lucky to be able to be apart of this call for global change!

End of Year Field Trip

posted Jun 22, 2017, 8:12 AM by Teri Young   [ updated Jun 22, 2017, 8:43 AM ]

For our end of the year field trip we ventured to Western Manitoba for a fun filled day of activities, sightseeing, and fun! Our first stop was the Shilo Army Base, where were were fortunate to have a guided tour of the museum there. The students were able to see, and touch real cannons, tanks, and try on soldiers uniforms! After here, we had a quick lunch, and made our way to the Westman Reptile Gardens to see different reptiles found around the world. Our final stop was in the heart of Brandon at PlayTime. Here, all the students were able to experience their inside play structure, and a game or two of Laser Tag! The votes were unanimous, laser tag was everyone's favourite part of the field trip!

Holland Track & Field

posted May 24, 2017, 5:21 PM by Teri Young

After two years of snow and rain storms, our schools annual Track and Field day at Holland school was a huge success.
The weather cooperated, the students had a blast, and we even had some middle years students break a personal record or two!
A few of the favourite early years students "events" were: lunch, the playground, and ice cream treats..... :)
