Dear Parents and Staff of PSSD,

Please view the most recent link from the Province:  https://news.gov.mb.ca/news/index.html?item=46957

In addition to the measures indicated on Friday, please note that today’s  bulletin indicates clearly that -

All Manitobans are strongly advised to cancel or postpone any non-essential international travel.  In addition, public health officials are recommending all international travellers should self-isolate and self-monitor for symptoms for 14 days after returning to Canada. This would include travel from the United States.

In an effort to further limit access to school buildings all parent and guardian drop-offs and pick-ups are to be done outside of PSSD Buildings. Parents/Guardians should call schools in advance if they need access to their student during the day and the student will meet them outside of the building.

Report Cards will be sent home with students by Friday if possible, or mailed home early next week.

Parent Teacher Conferences scheduled for March 27th should take place via phone call and could be scheduled on the 27th or throughout the class suspension period.  Schools/Teachers will communicate about alternate plans.

Staff and students should stay home if they are sick.  Schools will continue to plan for social distancing where possible and encourage hand-washing and other strategies as continually communicated.

Please communicate with your school if your student will be absent.

Thank you for working with us as we navigate these extraordinary times and make diligent efforts to minimize the effects of COVID-19 in Manitoba.

Sincerely,

Cheryl Mangin

Superintendent
